Implementation of new password policy on 1 September 2021

For meeting the enhanced password security guidelines issued by the then Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the password policy of the Trade Single Window (TSW) System is enhanced to meet the strengthened control requirements commencing 1 September 2021 at below:

Controls Requirements
Complexity and Length At least 10 characters with combinations of
  1. upper case letter;
  2. lower case letter; and
  3. number; or
  4. special characters (! @ # $ % & * ?)
Password history Latest 8 passwords cannot be reused
Password expiry 180 days
Account lockout After 5 invalid logon attempts
A 4-month transitional period is put in place to allow sufficient time for the existing TSW registrants to adopt the new password requirements. At the lapse of the transitional arrangement on 1 January 2022, all TSW registrants using the old password setting are required to reset their password when login to the TSW System.
